Testimonials

Dr. Rinde has done more for me in the last year than any other doctor has done for me in the past 9 years.

He actually takes the time to sit down with you to discuss your condition, to talk to you about what you have already tried and to discuss new avenues to take. He actually encouraged me to do my own research, and if I came up with anything we would look into it together. But to be honest there wasn’t much I could come up with that he hadn’t already suggested. This doctor is good folks!

Not only is Dr. Rinde the best ND I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to a lot of doctors) but he is also the most dedicated doctor I’ve ever dealt with. He takes the time to call me with results, and he even emails me to see how I’m doing. I mean, what doctor do you know emails you!? It’s great!

Even though I’m one of those mystery patients (no doctor has ever been able to figure out what’s wrong) Dr. Rinde has been the only doctor to think outside the box which has actually led us down a path to some positive test results, which is the first time any doctor has produced positive results with me in over 9 years. I’m not better just yet, but Dr. Rinde and I are working on it and he seems dedicated to making sure I get my life back.

Thank you Dr. Rinde!

I met with Dr. Rinde when I have lost all hope in determining what was wrong with me. I met with a myriad of “specialists” for years with no answer and no relief. I decided to try a naturopath to see what it was all about. It was the first time in 3 years that a doctor actually sat down and talked to me. He was able to fill in the gaps all of the other physicians failed to ask (or honestly didn’t have the time). I was so impressed with his honesty, communication, follow up, and more. I am happy to say I am feeling better than I have in years and I owe it all to Dr. Rinde. I highly recommend him to all of my friends and family.

Dr. Rinde is the most attentive, efficient, and determined professional I have ever known. I had a “mystery” syndrome causing all types of symptoms for me and I felt like I was at the end of my rope. After some investigating on his part and *continuous* contact with me via email (what doctor does that?! – how amazing), he discovered my health issue. I am now being treated for the next weveral months by him and am really grateful. He gets my highest recommendation.

I have had chronic back and hip pain for the last 10 years.

I have only been seeing Dr. Rinde for about a month, and I’m doing better than I could have ever imagined. He doesn’t just crack your back and send you on your way; he digs into your past history of injuries/activities/jobs that were the source of the problem, teaches you appropriate exercises for rebuilding your supportive muscles from the ground up, massages and activates dormant muscles, stretches tendons I didn’t know existed, and realigns the vertebrae (after you have the muscles to support the change). His knowledge of the human body is impeccable, and is great at explaining what is taking place with visual aids, models, etc.

I would recommend Dr Rinde to anyone…

He fixed my body (and he’s a really nice guy, too).

Thanks Adam!

I began seeing Dr. Rinde in January , 2009. I was surprised on the initial visit because he took so much time inquiring about my overall health and history; not just the current symptoms I was experiencing. I had been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, but was strongly averse to taking the pharmaceutical drugs that had been recommended by an MD. My symptoms were getting worse, so I opted for a natural approach. Dr. Rinde quickly organized some tests and blood work so he would more fully understand what my body needed…and what it needed to get rid of.

By altering my diet and adding some vitamins and supplements, I was experiencing some relief. Dr. Rinde referred me to a local Rheumatologist, and alas, although I did end up on one of the ‘dreaded pharmaceuticals’…my body is handling it very well. During these transitions, Dr. Rinde was more than supportive. He would actually email suggestions for my diet and was always quick to respond to my questions. It is refreshing to have a doctor that is so interested in your ‘whole health’. I can heartily and readily recommend him as a fine doctor.

Oh, one more thing. Dr. Rinde actually practices what he preaches. He eats right! He exercises! You can relate to him! This is a guy that you can trust.

Dr. Rinde is a naturopathic doctor with an emphasis in Sports medicine. I originally came to see him because of an injury that I sustained in the weight room (doing training for competitive cycling). At the same time, I had a few other heath concerns – a skin rash, diet questions and a need to monitor fatigue symptoms. I had also been quite dissatisfied with the traditional MD doctor that I had used previously because: 1) He seemed to want to send me to a different specialist for every concern, or only look at one thing at a time, rather than looking at the whole picture; 2) He seemed so quick to prescribe strong medication such as antibiotics and never suggested any alternatives; 3) He seemed more concerned with following a protocol than looking for what was best for me.

Dr. Rinde asks patients for their top THREE concerns when they come in the door – actively looking to understand the overall heath picture. He not only helped me immensely with my injury, but discovered that I had an egg allergy that was causing my skin problems. Dr. Rinde always talks about options for treatment and gives me choices with information to decide what is best. Once he even did prescribe antibiotics, but I knew that he was not following a rule or looking for an easy cure, but in that situation, antibiotics were really needed. I’ve been seeing Dr. Rinde for almost two years. He already recognizes patterns in my health – such as having more health concerns during the winter – and tested and found a vitamin D deficiency. He recognized my own pattern of healing from sports injury trauma and uses physical therapies that work for me.

Even if you know you need an MD for some things (Dr. Rinde has referred me to an MD for gynecological exams for instance), I find it helpful to have an ND looking at the whole picture and suggesting complementary supplements and therapies as well as providing input on what to prioritize. Dr. Rinde has been a physical therapist, dietician, and counselor for me and has cured ailments that my MD could not cure. All this at generally lower cost than traditional medicine and with a much greater sense of personalized care. Appointments are easy to make and Dr. Rinde responds quickly to phone calls. He gets the highest recommendation from me.

I have been seeing Dr. Rinde for several years now, both at his original location in Bellevue and his new location in Kirkland. He is easy to get a hold of and is fast in responding to phone messages or e-mails. He also accepts most major insurance without any hassle.

Dr. Rinde is an expert of physical medicine – being a big but active guy like myself can really lead to weird musculoskeletal issues. I had chronic foot, knee, back, and ankle pain to the point where half the week I couldn’t walk or get out of bed without heavy doses of prescription-strength painkillers.

After several trips to local specialists and MDs the only answer I got was “take more of these painkillers and lose weight.” Within our first visit Dr. Rinde found that the majority of my pain was due to muscle tension and cramping in specific parts of my back and calves.

Not only did Dr. Rinde show me very clearly in my first visit how tension in those muscles were affecting my pain, he taught me some specific exercises and stretches to release to the muscles.

He also identified that I had some magnesium deficiencies which were leading to my muscles cramping more than they should. We talked about my diet and what things I could change to reduce the muscle cramping which was causing me so much pain.

After about 4 visits of Dr. Rinde working to release the muscles, some fairly priced herbs and minerals, and walking me through various stretches, I was completely pain free! Two years of agony and a stomach-full of painkillers were gone like that, in a month – before I even had the opportunity to lose a single pound. Dr. Rinde always left me with some handouts or guides to help reinforce what we talked about between appointments.

I’ve been pain free for over a year now without spending a ton of money on drugs. The best part was that he taught me how to get myself better – unlike everyone else who tried to pump me full of prescriptions telling me to go “lose some weight.”

Now we’re working together weight loss and health and fitness, and I’ve never felt better. Dr. Rinde is a great doctor who not only takes the time to listen, but also has the scientific skills and experience to really help get you better when it counts. (Vito S.)

“Last fall I sought Dr. Rinde’s assistance with management of my ulcerative colitis. After ten years of off-and-on flares and countless medications, I was ready to try alternative therapies in hopes of sending my UC into remission and eliminating the need for medications. We worked together to establish a strict diet routine aimed at reducing the inflammation in my intestines, while also working to promote solid, overall GI health through several different nutritional supplements. Since then I’ve been able to slowly reduce the amount of prescription drugs I’ve been taking during the last few months, and am hopeful to continue that decrease.

“In addition to helping me think through my GI health, Dr. Rinde has worked to situate my disease within the broader context of my overall health. I never feel like we’re treating my colitis individually, but rather attempting to listen to what a flare may be saying about my overall health, nutrition, and condition of my soul. Dr. Rinde’s emphasis on treating me as a whole person – body, mind, and spirit – has been extremely important in the management of this disease and, I firmly believe, has helped me live a far healthier and balanced life overall.

“I highly recommend him to anyone interested in achieving a more well-balanced, healthy lifestyle, and to those are interested in aligning more closely their bodies and spirits.” Tom Ryan

After being diagnosed with a herniated disk in my lower back, I was unsure on how to safely exercise. Being an active runner and soccer player I needed other forms of exercises and stretches that would not irritate my lower back. Dr. Rinde gave me the ability and confidence to exercise safely. Dr. Rinde’s medical knowledge enabled him to provide me with stretches I could comfortably do at home or at the gym to alleviate the pain and stiffness in my back. Dr. Rinde also taught me exercises that would strengthen my core muscles and back muscles in order to build support around my injured disk.

Since working with Dr. Rinde, my back stiffness and pain has decreased. I now have the knowledge on how to exercise and stretch so as not to further injure or irritate my lower back.

Dear Dr. Rinde:

My experience as your patient for this past year has made a significant, positive impact on my healthcare.  With the help of naturopathic medicine under your care I was able to lower my bad cholesterol by 50 points (!) and I am hopeful that continued treatment will bring it down even lower.

I sought your care after a very bad physical response to a cholesterol lowering drug, which my former primary care physician had prescribed without pursuing any prevention methods.  After the bad reaction, she didn’t offer any alternatives except to try yet another statin to see if there was another reaction on my part.  She didn’t seem to take my reaction seriously, even though my response was extreme – muscle pain, weakness and dizziness lasting several months.  I was truly scared by the long duration of the weakness and pain symptoms, and the resultant rise in anxiety didn’t help my overall health outlook.

Under your care, we examined my diet, exercise, and other factors to build a treatment plan that included natural remedies, anti-anxiety relaxation, and diet modification.  I was amazed to learn from you that unfiltered coffee was a factor in raised cholesterol.  I discarded my French press that day!  Within three months I had lowered my bad cholesterol, regained my strength to resume exercising, and instituted the anti-anxiety practices as well.

A few months later I sought treatment for a shoulder injury that  I feared was going to limit my exercise regimen again.  Your thorough knowledge of sports conditioning helped me recover quickly.  After just 3 physical medicine treatments the symptoms are completely gone and I am able to fully enjoy weight-bearing, strengthening exercise once more.
All the best,

MK

I sought care with Dr. Rinde for a skin rash that began on my hand and spread to other areas over a five-year span. Other doctors have prescribed steroid creams in the past that fixed the issue, however, not permanently.

Dr. Rinde was able to make a connection between food and my histamine responses. I was given a blood test and to my surprise I was allergic to eggs! If it weren’t for Dr. Rinde and his eagerness to solve my problem, I would have continued to cover up a rash instead of finding the cause.
